The SparkTarot Deck is named after that initial Spark that ignites an idea, the small thing from which large things can come. The imagery is based on the Rider-Waite-Smith and the Marseille Tarot decks. It takes off from there to interpret the meanings of the cards in a contemporary way. The imagery invites you to find your own intuitive interpretations. One way I hope the SparkTarotยฎ Deck will help seekers interpret the cards more easily is through the different names given to some of the cards. The card names in this deck reflect current symbology and understanding. For example: the traditional suit names of Swords and Pentacles donโt necessarily resonate in todayโs world. Consequently, the symbols go further back to simpler, more archetypal forms. In this deck, the suit of Swords is known as Serpents, and the Pentacles/Coins are known as Stones. The original images were painted using a combination of Kuretake Gansai Tambi, Sennelier, and Case for Making watercolors made in Japan, France, and San Francisco respectively.
